Lego Christmas 2015 Part 3

Yeah Christmas is finally here! We have a fender having a deadly duel with the indomitable snowman. Nearby 2 policeman just doing their thing...

And here is everyone's favourite uncle coming in his one-horse open sleigh. Some spacemen fans are taking photos and waiting to greet him before his starts work going down chimneys and all.

A closer look at Santa.

Here we can see Stormtroopers having fun at a medieval carnival, featuring some mock combat on a training model.

Last of all is my latest winter village addition, the Santa's Workshop. While the facade is fantastic, it is a bit disappointing as the model is very very flat.

Well that is it for this year, hopefully I will rebuild another setup next year and hopefully it will look even better in years to come. I end off with a Snowtrooper this time being the only hardworking fella with his mounted blaster aiming at a remote controlled robot trying to steal away some sausages.

Lego Christmas 2015 Part 2

Christmas comes fast this year for me. Wow it is almost upon us. Maybe changing jobs and home all within a year was a factor. Up next is the winter village post office and cottage. In between them I borrowed the statue from the city square set.

Also notice that I now decorate all the roofs with trans red, green and yellow round tiles or studs. In order to achieve this I had Bricklinked 50 sets of round tiles for each colour. I felt that having the whole scene so white was nice but a touch of colour would add more life to the setup.

While most Singaporeans would STOMP an incident like the dude below, we can see Stormies having a bit more heart and helping out the poor dude stuck in the snow.

In the background we can see Santa being lazy this time round and just putting some of the presents his is supposed to deliver under the big Christmas tree.

Here a childhood deprived (are they not all?) stormtrooper having the ride of his life.

Another stormtrooper here having a go at the targets...no prizes for guessing if he will hit any of the targets.

Coming to the food carnival section, we can see them taking a break and enjoying the food. Give them a break, give them a Tiger!

Snapping some photos before shore leave ends and they got to blow up this landscape. Others are discussing and laughing. Some conversation going on about an old man and something about droids they were not looking for.

Well that is it for Part 2, come back later for Part 3!

Lego Christmas 2015 Part 1

Heh, I am a terrible person at updating stuff. So much went on in 2015, from changing jobs to moving to a new place of my own, my Lego blog posts basically fell to the wayside. Besides this is more like an online diary for me and my quest as I journey to fight and do battle with Lego for my wallet. Obviously the Dark Side is winning.

Anyways, with my own place I was allowed to make displays for my Lego. Which promptly failed spectacularly when I realised I had made too few display cabinets. Lesson to self, there can NEVER be enough display.

So, for this festive season, I actually packed and hidden away my modulars to make way for the Winter Village sets, just for the month of December. It will be another mini epic journey to pack the Winter Village sets and set up the modulars again. But hey this is getting value out of your Lego sets. Lets get down to the sets themselves!

This time I will not go through each set, instead I will just take pictures of the whole setup and focus on parts that I like. Okay I forgot to do a picture set for the Lego 10245 Santa's Workshop in my excitement...

The display shelf is long so it is not really possible to catch a panoramic view with my mobile phone. Also the glass panels will kind of ruin it. So here is the whole setup shot from the 2 ends instead before we dive into particular scenes.

The left side...

The right side...

The theme this year is that the stormtroopers on the death star are on shore leave. The whole winter village will be razed to the ground after this of course. Classified plans and all you know.

Here you can see in the background the Lego 6776 Imperial Dropship dropping off one batch of stormtroopers for shore leave. As you can see some of them have already starting drinking. Drink and flying...not a good combo.

Here I was experimenting with round tiles as pavements and found that it was very nice. Unfortunately I was not able to Bricklink enough of them to connect the entire winter village up. Next year's project it shall be!

The gazebo is clearly a good place for stormtroopers to discuss the finer aspects of missing targets with their blasters...

Okay that's all for now, stay tuned for Part 2!
